Are you ready to immerse yourself in the beauty of the Wyoming landscape and express your unique vision through drawing? Join artist and instructor Lander Burton for an inspiring two-day plein air drawing workshop, where we'll venture into the heart of Sinks Canyon and capture its magic on paper. Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned artist, this workshop offers a supportive and collaborative environment to hone your skills and connect with nature in a profound way.
Our journey begins on Friday evening, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lander Art Center. We'll gather to prepare our materials, share our artistic backgrounds, and discuss the fundamental principles of plein air drawing. We will explore techniques for capturing light, shadow, and form in the landscape, setting the stage for our drawing session the following day. This introductory meeting is a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow art enthusiasts and set intentions for our creative exploration.
On Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, we'll venture into Sinks Canyon, armed with charcoal and paper. Surrounded by the breathtaking scenery, we'll translate our observations and emotions into unique drawings. Through guided exercises and individual feedback, we'll cultivate our hand, eye, and heart coordination, allowing our artistic voices to emerge. This is a chance to not only learn new skills but also to discover the joy of creating art in the very place that inspires it.
This workshop is more than just learning to draw; it's an opportunity to connect with nature, with fellow artists, and with your own creative potential. Come join us as we embark on this artistic adventure together!
