Teach at LAC
If you make something and you can show other people how, we want to hear from you. Bring us the class you want to teach and we will work out how to make it happen.
We are looking for watercolor, oil, and drawing instructors
The instructor who ran those classes for three straight years has moved on, and they are the ones our students ask for most. If you work in any of them, we would like to talk. We are open to everything else too, and the rest of this page applies whatever you make.
How teachers get paid
You tell us what you need
LAC does not post one rate and ask everyone to take it. Compensation is worked out class by class, and the proposal form asks what you require rather than telling you what you get. Hourly works, per session works, and a flat rate for the whole course works.
We price the class around the answer. If the numbers do not work at first, we would rather talk it through than miss the opportunity to work with you.
What LAC provides
Tools and supplies
Twenty three years of collecting means the studio holds far more than the usual. Wheels, kilns, presses, and a deep shelf of materials across many mediums. The proposal form asks what your class needs and what we already have, so let's go explore the collection together.
The room
Classroom and studio space on Main Street, set up before your session and cleaned up after, with that time counted as part of your paid hours.
Students
We handle registration, payment, and reminders through our booking system, and we put your class in the class list, on the calendar, and in the newsletter.
Access for everyone
Our classes use self-selected pricing, so a family who needs a lower rate can take one without asking. That is on us, not on your compensation.
How to propose a class
- Fill out the Class Proposal Form. It asks about your class, what students will learn, what supplies you need, and what you want to be paid. Hard copies are at the front desk if you would rather write it out here.
- Send it to education@landerartcenter.com, or drop it off at 258 Main Street.
- Kaia, our Education Coordinator, will read it and get back to you to talk through scheduling, supplies, and pay.
