Lander Art Center Presents the 45th Annual Red Desert Audubon Art Show
The Lander Art Center, in coordination with the Red Desert Audubon Society, cordially invites artists to participate in the 45th Annual Red Desert Audubon Art Show. This esteemed exhibition will run from July 31st through September 6th, 2025, showcasing artwork that celebrates the breathtaking native flora and fauna of Wyoming.
We welcome submissions from artists working in a variety of traditional mediums. We seek to curate a professional and inspiring exhibition that honors the rich biodiversity of our state.
Exhibition Details:
Theme: Artwork must feature native Wyoming resident or migratory species. Please note that non-native species such as horses, cows, dogs, chickens, garden plants (e.g., tulips, daffodils), pheasants, chukars, rock pigeons, house sparrows, and starlings are not eligible for submission.
Accepted 2-D Mediums: Oil, acrylic, pastel, watercolor, hand-drawn graphic art (no digital art), drawings, woodcuts, lithographs, aquatints, etchings, serigraphs, silkscreens, pencil, charcoal, pen and ink, and scratchboard.
Accepted 3-D Mediums: Sculpture (excluding waxes) such as bronze, marble, and wood carvings; pottery; fiber art; batik; leatherwork; wall hangings; stained glass; and collage.
Not Accepted: Photography is not an accepted medium for this exhibition.
Important Dates & Information:
Submission Deadline: All application forms, fees, artist statements, and artwork must be received by Wednesday, July 18th, 2025.
Entry Fee: A non-refundable entry fee of $30 is required for up to three entries. Students in high school or younger may enter free of charge.
Opening Reception: Join us for an opening reception on July 31st, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lander Art Center. The Red Desert Audubon Society will provide light refreshments, and the Lander Art Center will offer beverages.
Awards: Cash prizes will be awarded in each category, as well as for Best of Show and People's Choice.
