2026 Summer Art Day Camps at the Lander Art Center

Day Art Camps at the Lander Art Center

Session 1: July 27 through 30
Session 2: August 3 through 6

Student Art Show: Friday, August 7
featuring work from both sessions

Time: 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM (Monday through Thursday)
Grades: 3rd through 8th

Four days. Endless creativity.

In this hands-on Day Art Camp, kids won't just be making art. They'll be learning how to think like artists. Through drawing, painting, watercolors, acrylics, fiber art, clay, papier-mâché sculpture, and storytelling through imaginative character drawing, students will sharpen their skills, explore new ideas, and bring their imagination to life.

Guided by Wyoming PTSB-certified Art Educator Pam Sipe, these camps go beyond arts and crafts. This is real arts education.

This summer, students will:

  • Sketch from real life outdoors using plein-air drawing techniques

  • Explore a variety of drawing techniques across different mediums

  • Paint watercolor sea turtles using wet-on-wet techniques and salt effects

  • Work with acrylics on mini and larger canvases, choosing their own subjects

  • Build papier-mâché sculptures from start to finish

  • Create clay and sand mixed media gargoyles

  • Create coil pottery with lids using air-dry clay

  • Design, glue, hand-sew, and stuff a felt fabric creation

  • Explore color mixing, painting textures, and sketching on toned paper

  • Build a zig-zag booklet filled with their own illustrated picture story

Both sessions come together for a gallery-style student art show on August 7, where campers will showcase everything they've created.

All materials provided. We bring the paints, canvas, brushes, clay, fabric, and creativity.

Please pack a ready-to-eat lunch, snacks, and a water bottle each day. Light snacks will be available, but students should come with a packed lunch that doesn't need heating. If packing a lunch isn't an option for your family, reach out to us and we'll make sure something healthy is available. Please list any allergies at signup.

A note on pricing: The Lander Art Center believes that access to the arts matters. We offer self-selected pricing so you can choose the level that reflects your situation, no application or explanation needed. The listed price is our standard tuition. If financial support would make this camp more accessible for your family, enter the code SUPPORTED at checkout to receive a reduced rate. We trust you to choose what's right for you.
