This class is for very young children, 18 month through 5 years. (3 year old and younger must have a caregiver present) Classes will experience art, movement, and stories in a fun atmosphere. Classes are held the third Saturday of every month.

Time: 10:15 AM - 11:00 AM

Cost: $45.00 for a 5 class punch card; or $10.00 drop in fee.

Draw cityscapes and landscapes exploring the use of line and reflection. Students will learn how to abstract a form, creating an interesting and unique design for printmaking on paper or fabric.

Students will learn how to form copper and bronze with hammers, cutters and shapers; make cool recycled jewelry from bottle caps, pop cans, cake holders and plastic bottles; and decorate tin boxes with polymer clay to hold their new treasures.

Students will learn varying form building techniques with clay to create unique, wild, and crazy creatures. Slab work will set the stage for creating shapes that make beautiful music as a wind chime.

Learn how to dye fabric using vibrant colors and varying design techniques such as spirals, pleats, knotting, bunching, and rosettes. Students will also learn about screen printing by designing layouts, layering drawings, and accentuating positive and negative shapes to achieve a multi-color image.

This class will work with an art medium that is often underestimated: yarn! Students will learn multiple techniques and methods to weave, color, and sculpt yarn to create interesting artwork. Don't let your preconceptions tangle you up; yarn has many uses!

SUMMER CREATIVE ARTS CAMP (16 Jul 2012)

This is a week not to be missed as students explore creativity and movement with the Dancers' Workshop of Jackson Hole. The final production will take place at the Riverfest 2012 Art and Music in the Park on Saturday, July 21. Students should wear comfortable clothes and bring water and lunch.

Exploring Animation (31 Jul 2012)

Using drawing techniques students will learn how to develop a storyline frame-by-frame from simple to complex. From facial features to color palette students will design and complete a flipbook to share with friends and family.

En PLEIN AIR (14 Aug 2012)

Where can the imagination run more free than in the open air? "en plein air" is a French expression for "in the open air." Students will learn the basic painting techniques at the Art Center followed by time using these techniques outdoors at Sinks Canyon Center. Join us as we spend the last days of the summer enjoying the sunshine!
